SCI has currently two main International projects: Memory beyond Rhetoric and Global Volunteer Action. Both projects are run together with SCI branches and partners and with the financial support of european programmes: Europe for Citizens programme and Erasmus+ Programme. In this page you will find all the information about them.

Memory beyond Rhetoric

Memory beyond Rhetoric is SCI remmembrance project. A project focused on WWI and the growth of the pacifist movement in Europe. With it, SCI aims to promote a mature idea of peace, anti-militarism and non-violence. SCI’s remembrance project critically analyses the image of soldiers-heroes and wants to contribute to a real understanding of the history and diversity of the European Union, which was created as a peace guarantee.

Memory beyond Rhetoric includes the organization of seminars and activities in some of the most meaningful scenarios of the First World War, such as the international seminar in Verdun, France, where the “Battle of Verdun” was fought in 1916 and where Pierre Cérésole organized the first SCI workcamp.

Global Volunteer Action

Global Volunteer Action is SCI’s global project. It focuses on youth volunteering in Europe and Asia (and beyond). There are several challenges that youth and voluntary service organizations face nowadays, and Global Volunteer Action aims to find a common space where they can be shared and discussed, a space that will provide and create common solutions.
